Core Values
This is my personal manifesto - a statement of the Core Values that inform my life and my practice. If any of this resonates with you, we will probably work really well together!
I BELIEVE
ALL KNOWLEDGE IS WORTH HAVING…
… there is no such thing as useless information. Information makes familiar the unfamiliar, and empowers us to make informed choices in our lives.
EVERYONE HAS SOMETHING TO OFFER…
… there is wisdom in all ways. When we listen, we learn.
MORALITY, TRUTH & JUDGEMENT ARE SUBJECTIVE…
… we are in a constant process of learning and evolving. There are no absolutes. What we know is not static. The earth was not always round.
WE ARE ALL ONE TOGETHER…
… age, race, ability, gender, sexuality, ethnicity, culture, and creed are all part of being human. The divisions between them don’t have to be.
DIFFERENCES ARE A BLESSING…
… not a burden to be overlooked or overcome.
LOVE IS BEAUTIFUL…
… that we love is imperative. Who we love is personal. Love is always the way. There are no exceptions.
PEACE AND FELLOWSHIP ARE REAL POSSIBILITIES…
… people are loving and kind. We will not harm that with which we have bonded.
YOUR FAITH IS YOUR OWN…
… honouring and respecting all paths to spirit, as well as the choice not to pursue it, brings together people of all beliefs and backgrounds, in community and friendship.
SECULAR IS SPIRITUAL…
… all thoughts, words and deeds can be spiritual seeds. The direction in which they grow depends on where we direct our attention and intention.
SPIRITUAL EXPERIENCES CAN HAPPEN ANYWHERE…
… and within any framework. Our power lies not in which tools we use, but rather in how we use them.
RELIGIOUS TEACHINGS ARE METAPHORICAL IN NATURE…
… approached with an open mind and viewed within their respective cultural and historical contexts, they may motivate us toward contemplation and learning.
WHAT REALLY MATTERS IS WHO WE ARE…
… what we do, and how we live. Consideration, compassion, kindness and integrity are impeccable guides.
PERSPECTIVE IS EVERYTHING…
… we can change the world in a day. All we have to do is look at it differently.
BUT MOST OF ALL…
I believe in YOU…
… in your ability to make informed choices that reflect what you value.
… in your capacity to affect real and positive change in the world by being exactly who you are
… in your right to develop a deeply personal relationship with yourself, with spirit, and with the world around you.
This sounds like a great fit!
